More Chardonnay Please!
There's nothing like good quality rich and textured Chardonnay with its layers of complexity. They're versatile with food pairings and are incredibly rewarding. At a dinner part it's often more fun to try several different whites rather than just the one. Try pairing these wines with roast chicken, roast seasonal vegetables or meaty white fish.

Villa Bucci Verdicchio Classico Superiore 2020
A Family run winery since the 18th Century, these guys have got it down to a tee. The winery is in Marche, a wine region almost halfway down the country on the Adriatic east coast.
100% Verdicchio, this wine has a richness to it with notes of toasted almond and ripe concentrated fruit. This is all balanced by a refreshing minerality, thanks to the winery’s proximity to the coast. It’s absolutely delicious, and perfect with some fresh shellfish cooked in garlic and cream sauce.
Thorne & Daughters Rocking Horse Cape White 2021
Thorne and Daughters winery was founded in 2012 by husband-and-wife team John and Tasha Seccombe. They have a passion for making wines that express the sunshine and warmth of their home in South Africa. This wine is named after a rocking horse that was made for their daughters out of an old oak barrel.
The wine contains Rhone varietals Semillon and Roussane, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Clairette, all carefully hand selected from vineyards around the Western Cape. The palate displays hay and honey, with added layers of delicate tropical fruit and some light florals. Drink this with some barbecued chicken and you won’t be disappointed!
Rock of Wisdom Superfly White 2021
Hailing from Eden Valley in Australia, the aim of the winemakers is simple. Keep it light and exciting! A blend of Riesling and Semillon creates a harmonious flavour. Riesling brings acidity, florals, zip and precision, and Semillon balances this. If you are a fan of light and easy styles, this is the wine for you. Serve as an aperitif and it will bring a smile to everyone’s faces.
Vinedos Ruiz Jimenez Rioja Blanco 2018
A talented winemaker with a wealth of experience, Francisco Jimenez cares deeply about sustainable farming, organic winemaking, and low intervention.
A complex expression packed full of flavour with terrific value for money. This wine has seen a little bit of oak, and has a lovely golden hue. Expect flavours of pear, passion fruit, pineapple, and smoked honey. Pair with grilled fish, Spanish cheese or grilled chicken.
St Vincent Chardonnay 2021
A little different to its Burgundy counterpart, this Chardonnay is produced in the Languedoc region of France. Here they have a long ripening season due to the warm consistent weather and the cooling winds and cooler nights, keeping freshness and meaning the grapes ripen evenly.
This gives the wine an incredible depth of flavour with stoned fruits, some rich tropicality on the finish and a little bit of zippy lime to pull everything together. A chardonnay for anyone who shies away from oak.
Drink this with some delicious seafood, and picture yourself by the coast!
Bee Tree Chardonnay 2018
This is a product of a family run business down in East Sussex, just outside Rye. These guys grow and nurture all their own grapes, and focus on ethically and sustainably making wine. A really interesting project!
This Chardonnay is Barrel fermented and therefore is more medium in body. Think baked apple, hints of spice, a touch of lemon zest and a creamy finish.
Perfect with roast chicken and all the trimmings at home on a rainy day.
